Diana C. Yuen, O.D.
Dr. Diana Yuen has enjoyed providing eyecare in the Grand Avenue area for over 20 years. She was born and raised right here in the Crocker Highlands area where she went to school, and eventually, graduated from Oakland High School. She then studied Biology at Mills College before entering the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where she earned her doctorate degree.
Dr. Yuen is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, UC Berkeley School of Optometry Alumni Association, the Asian Optometric Study Group, and VisionSource, an international network of distinguished independent eyecare professionals.
Aside from practicing optometry, Dr. Yuen enjoys spending time with her two daughters, aged 20 and 16, and her husband, Ray. Much of her "free" time is spent supporting her children's activities which include piano, violin and vocal lessons, tennis, ballet, theater, and events at their school, Head-Royce, where husband Ray serves as the Director of Educational Technology. In addition, she enjoys reading, traveling, playing the piano, cooking, theater, and spending time with friends and extended family.
Dr. Yuen looks forward to sharing her expertise and meeting all of your eyecare needs. She gladly welcomes new and returning patients alike.

Chong Yu, O.D.
Dr. Chong Yu has been practicing in our office since 2007. He grew up in the East Bay and attended school in Albany. After graduating from UC Berkeley as a finalist for the University Medal, Dr. Yu went on to attend the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He met his future wife, Emily, while in graduate school, and they were married in September of 2007. Dr. Yu and his wife currently reside in El Cerrito where they recently purchased their new home and hope to raise their future family.
During his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys skiing, playing basketball, cooking, watching football, and spending time with family and friends. Recently he has picked up the sport of mountain biking and enjoys riding the trails in China Camp, Mt. Tamalpais, and Wildcat Canyon.
Dr. Yu takes great pride in providing the most thorough and accurate eye care possible for every one of his patients. In addition, he is able to examine patients in both Cantonese and Spanish.

Mimi Burrow, Optician/Optometric Technician
Mimi Burrow is a very familiar face around the Grand Avenue neighborhood. She has been sharing her expertise with our patients for over 20 years. She has built deep and close relationships with many of our patients over the years and continues to satisfy all of their optical needs to the best of her ability.
Mimi welcomes the opportunity to share her knowledge about lens selections, frame styling, frame fitting, eyecare insurance, and even a good meatloaf recipe with you. Her goal is to provide each and every patient with exceptional customer service.
Mimi was born and raised in the Bay Area. She currently resides in her new home in San Pablo. Away from the office, Mimi values spending time with her four year old daughter, Shelby, her husband, Don, and her brand new puppy. She loves sharing her passion for cooking and baking with her daughter. As if that is not enough, Mimi also enjoys scrapbooking and photography.

Veronica Roman, Receptionist
Veronica Roman's smiling face is the first thing you will see when you enter our office. She greets all of our patients and maintains our patient files and accounts with efficiency and accuracy. Her cheerful voice can be heard on the telephone as she assists you with all of your requests and inquiries.
Veronica is a native of the Bay Area. She is the oldest of five children and graduated from Fremont High School here in Oakland.
When Veronica is not in the office she is enjoying her time with her four year old son, Cesar. She speaks Spanish fluently and is eager to be of assistance to you in any way that she can.

Maribeth Ugalino, Optometric Assistant Maribeth Ugalino is a wonderful new addition to our practice. You
will love her cheerful disposition as you enter our office and will
appreciate the positive attitude that she consistently demonstrates to
our patients as well as her co-workers. She is extremely passionate
about helping others and strives to provide each individual with the
ultimate in thoughtful care and service.
Maribeth originally hails from San Francisco, but spent much of her
life growing up in Stockton. She is a recent graduate of San Francisco
State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Biology with a
concentration in Physiology. She aspires to become an optometrist one
day because she enjoys delivering excellent patient care and truly
cherishes the gift of sight.
In her spare time, Maribeth loves to be surrounded by her friends,
eating out, playing with her two-year-old niece, and seeking new
adventures. She is also the very proud parent of five dogs; Chubby,
Ping, Puppy, Bailey, and Khloe. |

Ashley was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, but spent much of her
childhood growing up on the beautiful beaches of Florida. After many
enjoyable visits with family members on the West Coast, she chose to
settle here in the Bay Area after graduating from school. She loves to
watch and play a variety of sports, as well as cook and travel. The
love of her life is her English bulldog, Mochi.
